Outsourcing: The Philippines is Your Best Option

Outsourcing to the Philippines is a wonderful way to delegate tasks either that you do not want to do or that you do not have the skills to perform.  The benefits are mutual.  Work is scarce in the Philippines and so they often depend on outsourcing companies to allow them to submit profiles. The outsourcing company receives a fee from potential employers for usually a month at a time.  Contact from potential employers is the next step for either part-time or full-time employment. The benefit you receive is that the Filipino people are very hospitable and easy to work with and in addition, the rate of exchange makes their salary requirements quite low in comparison with having the same work performed here in the States.

Say for example, that you do not have time to write articles for your blog.  You can search different outsourcing companies with the keywords: article writers, or rewriting.  Then, depending on the category or keywords you selected perhaps hundreds of candidates will appear.  Often included is the picture of the person, their skills, the rate of pay that they would like to receive on a monthly basis and the hours they are willing to work.

The more diligent candidates will often include testing that they have completed to show competency in English and aptitude in using various software programs, like Microsoft Word or Excel.  For programmers, they would also include their programming language skills and areas of expertise.

As with working with any employment agency, the screenings provided do not mean that the person who looks or sounds good on paper will be a good match for your needs.  You can contact the potential applicant with a series of questions and even provide a trial project (that you will pay for) to determine if the work is performed in an acceptable and timely manner.

Another issue that may arise is that there is a lot of competition for the best candidates and you may find that they give very little if any notice if they are not going to fulfill the assignment you have for them which can be frustrating.

My experience with Outsourcing has been one of sorting through many individuals; some are weeded out from the questionnaire, others with the inability to consistently provide the work in an acceptable time frame.  However, I have been fortunate enough to find a select few that work consistently.

In my case work is submitted the day it is completed. This gives me a good idea of the stability and work ethic of each person.  At times, in the beginning I would ask that they record the time it took them to perform the task to give me an idea of the competence of that particular individual.

People are people all over the world.  No matter what you will always find individuals who will work hard and honestly and others who will always offer a dozen excuses and try to cheat the system in whatever way they can.  Therefore, outsourcing is not much different from hiring in any other setting with the exception that you have hundreds to choose from and a vast amount of information at your fingertips before you conduct your first interview.  With a little perseverance, you will find the perfect match for your business needs and often a polite, delightful employee in the bargain.
